About

Independent by design. Invested in your network.

Metis is a network consultancy built around a simple belief: the best technology decisions begin with understanding the problem.

Why Metis exists

Most organizations depend on their network more than they think about it. It carries every application, every call, every transaction, and every connection to the cloud. When it works, nobody notices. When it does not, everything stops.

Yet the advice available to the people responsible for it often arrives with a product to sell or a delivery model designed for someone else. Metis was founded to offer something different: independent, senior, hands-on network consulting with nothing to sell but the work.

We pair strategic perspective with practical engineering to help organizations build, secure, and improve their networks. Clear recommendations, thoughtful execution, and knowledge that stays with your team.

What independent means

Independence is easy to claim. These are the commitments that make it real, and each one is a line of business we have chosen not to have.

  • No hardware or software resale

We do not sell, resell, or mark up equipment or licenses. A bill of materials from Metis is a recommendation, and you buy from whoever you choose.

  • No referral fees or carrier commissions

No vendor, VAR, MSP, or carrier pays us for an introduction or a recommendation. Advice on circuits and providers is paid for only by you.

  • No vendor partner tiers

We hold no reseller or partner status with any manufacturer, so there is no quota to meet, no tier to protect, and no badge on this site.

  • No bid to run your network

We do not run a NOC, sell monitoring, or provide first-line support, and an assessment from Metis is never a proposal to take over the network, so the findings are only findings. Where a retainer carries ongoing responsibilities, they are agreed with you, not bid for.

  • Senior and hands-on

The people you meet at the start are the people who do the work. Every engagement is led by an experienced network engineer who can build what they recommend.

Why the name

In ancient Greek, mētis describes practical wisdom: the ability to read a situation clearly, weigh the options, and act on them well.

It is the quality we value most in our own work, and the one we aim to leave behind in yours.

How we work

Start with a 30-minute scoping call.

Tell us where you’re headed and what’s in the way. A senior engineer will call to understand your situation, not to pitch.

  1. We read your message and reply to arrange the call at a time that suits you.
  2. A senior engineer joins the call to understand your environment and what you are trying to achieve.
  3. If there is a fit, you receive a written proposal with scope, deliverables, and price. If there is not, we say so and point you in a better direction.
